On-road performance
Jono tested the Sayonara for 2 weeks over several 5 to 10 km distances, mostly on road with some light trail thrown in.  The shoe performed well for 5km high tempo workouts and was just as comfortable over the longer 10km training sessions. After 10km's it felt like the shoe would keep going comfortably for longer distances.

The Sayonara was stable through the mid-foot with adequate cushioning.  It delivered a firm ride with excellent arch support.  It's lightweight feature was an advantage on the hills and its upper design held the foot firmly on steep downhill sections.  Jono found the lower profile of the shoe suited his mid-foot running style.  The shoe is more suited to on-road running than light trail.  On the trail the stiffness of the shoe meant that heel to toe flexibility was not sufficient on uneven ground.

Summary
The Sayonara is an excellent lightweight training shoe over a short to medium distance.  It could act as a second shoe for the shorter distance runs.
